For fans of the Digimon series, it looks like there’s a few new developments to give you something to look forward to for the series’ 15th anniversary.
Earlier this week, Toei Animation teased the return of Digimon Adventure (a.k.a. the first Digimon series) in a trailer posted in both english and japanese on their youtube account.

Titled “For all “DigiDestined” in the world ver. DIGIMON ADVENTURE 15th Anniversary Project”, the video features a short montage of clips from the original series before teasing a new series coming next year. The “Taichi, seventeen, High school days” line near the end seems to indicate that the new series will possibly pick up some time after Digimon Adventure 02, which focused on a new set of characters but would occasionally feature the old DigiDestined at various points.

While waiting ’til next year for this return to the Digital World, you can also expect to see a new Digimon game , Digimon: All Star Rumble, coming later this year from Namco Bandai games and developed by Prope. Featuring many Digimon characters from the series, All Star Rumble is a multiplayer arena fighting/battle game for Xbox 360 & PS3, where up to 4 players can choose from 12 Digimon and digivolve through their rookie, champion and ultimate evolution forms to battle and aim for victory.

Hopefully the announcement of this new Digimon game for English territories shows that Bandai Namco have noticed the active fan base for the Digimon series outside of Japan, especially those that have organised several petitions and campaigns to convince BN to bring some of the recent Japan only Digimon games to western fans.
