To kick off the new year, Zen Studios have announced that their rhythm/fighting game hybrid, KickBeat will be coming to PCs via Steam.
KickBeat Steam Edition will feature the original game released on PS3 and PS Vita last year, along with gameplay revisions based on fan feedback, exclusive additional songs and also incorporates many popular features of Steam such as Steam Cloud support for syncing save files and Steam Trading Cards to collect.
We had a great time with KickBeat in our review last year, so this updated version should be something to look forward to anyone who wasn’t able to play it before due to not having a PS3 or Vita.
KickBeat Steam Edition will be available on Steam January 20th for €8.99 / $9.99.

Innovative Rhythm Based Fighter “KickBeat” Gets Expanded Content & More for Steam
Los Angeles, CA – January 7, 2014 – Zen Studios today announced KickBeat Steam Edition, an expanded edition of the experimental rhythm game featuring fully 3D characters, combat and high-energy music, set to release January 20th, 2014 on Steam for $9.99 in North America and €8.99 in Europe.
KickBeat Steam Edition offers players several innovative ways to interact with music. The game combines beat-matching mechanics with an acrobatic style of martial arts, turning every song into a raucous battle. The game also features a music analyzer that allows players to create new tracks from their own music libraries.
The KickBeat Steam Edition soundtrack has been expanded for the special Steam release, and now includes 6 tracks from the awesome indie game Electronic Super Joy, from artist EnV as part of the game’s single player campaign. The game features tracks from a diverse lineup of artists ranging from well-known bands such as Pendulum and Marilyn Manson, to indie pioneers Celldweller and Blue Stahli, to hidden talents like electronic music producer Voicians and Taiwanese rapper Shen Yi.
Zen Studios listened to feedback from players and press from the PlayStation®3 release, and made several key changes and additions to the game for Steam.
- Advanced difficulty is now available in Free Play mode
- Beat Your Music mode is available much earlier in the campaign, allowing you to create your own custom tracks without having to complete the single player campaign
